ABSTRACT

Medical malpractice is a violation of the standard of care that occurs when a medical professional selects the erroneous method of treatment which harms their patients or lead to their deaths. Medical malpractice is the instance of negligence or ineptitude of the medical professionals. Several individuals are injured each year as a consequence of medical malpractice. The legal system of Bangladesh lacks both a detailed framework and specific legislation which could restrict negligence practices. However, there are some legal provisions under different statutes, but which are ineffectual to deal with medical negligence lawsuits. The health care system in Bangladesh suffers from degradation because of three main deficiencies: the lack of both law and medical council and the spread of medical management as a business. Health care system degradation plays an active part in building negative patient attitudes and driving their dissatisfaction with Bangladesh's current healthcare organization. In this study, a questionnaire-based survey has made to analyze the attitude towards medical malpractice among general people in Bangladesh.
