In the digital age, crises are often accompanied by an ‘infodemic’—a surge of misinformation that impedes the development of Shared Situational Awareness (SSA) among the public and response agencies. The SSA, which is crucial in managing the crisis effectively and efficiently is dependent on collaboration. Comprehension of current circumstances and foresight for future developments. The research delves into the complexities of information transmission, communication strategies, and building trust through social media, examining their interaction in the context of sub-Saharan Africa during crises.
