Culture focuses at the nation and its citizens. The nation's identity is ridiculous without its culture. Each region has its own variations. There are many people in practice culture, especially in India. India is therefore promoting itself as a multi-cultural nation. Varied writers have varied perspectives on this multiculturalism. One of the most significant novelists in India's English-language literature of the 20th century is Vikram Seth. His extensive global cultural understanding aided him in writing on culturalism. Culturalism is the central theme of his novels like The Golden Gate, A Suitable Boy, and An Equal Music. He provides illustrations of India's marriage system, particularly in Western society, in A Suitable Boy. The paper examines Lata, the novel's protagonist, in an effort to show how the western marriage system controls Indian marriage customs.
