ABSTRACT
The objective of this study was to investigate the situation of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies in educational institutions and explore strategies for improvement. Employing a mixed method approach, both quantitative and qualitative data were gathered through survey and structured interviews along with evaluation of existing policies and practices. The findings revealed that opposing DEI initiatives, partial policies and practices, poor management of resources, poor training employee training and non-inclusive curricula are barriers to the implementation of DEI. Enlightenment of the society about the need for DEI, review of existing policies, proper management of available resources, continuous employee training and inclusive curricula were recommended as strategies for improving DEI in educational institutions.
