ABSTRACT
The integration of biotechnology into agriculture and food production has created game-changing opportunities to tackle global concerns. These developments promise greater agricultural output, improved nutrient quality, and enhanced sustainability. As with any invention, there may be potential issues with food safety; thus, thorough analysis and mitigating measures are required. The main issues with food safety raised by recent biotechnology applications in the food business are highlighted in this abstract. Allergenicity evaluation, unintentional gene transfer, nutritional content changes, disruption of food-related microbiomes, potential long-term health impacts, and ecological ramifications are included in this list of worries. Each of these issues is examined considering the growing contribution of biotechnology to food production. To ensure the appropriate use of biotechnology in food production, the abstract emphasizes the importance of thorough safety studies, efficient regulatory frameworks, and open communication. Utilizing the advantages of biotechnology while ensuring food safety and public health requires a multidisciplinary strategy involving scientists, lawmakers, healthcare providers, and the general public.
