ABSTRACT

The purpose of a fermenter and bioreactor is to provide conditions that allow an organism to produce a desired product efficiently. By offering the ideal conditions for reactions, two types of vessels, bioreactors and fermenters, allow biological processes to occur. A bioreactor is a device that supports various biological processes, whereas a fermenter is a device that encourages fermentation. Fermenters are a type of bioreactor. Bioreactors are used to make medications, vaccines, or antibodies. Fermenters are used to make lactic acid and ethanol. The main contrast between a bioreactor and a fermenter is the type of biological reaction that each performs. They are used in a variety of fields, including basic research, creative industries, and manufacturing. For the synthesis of biomolecules such as biomass, enzymes, organic acids, fragrance compounds, spores, and various production pigments, antibiotics, and others, an overview of bioreactor types, their design, and features will be taken into consideration. The current trends of fermenters and bioreactor systems, with a focus on efficiency, sustainability, and the ability to meet the evolving demands of various industries. Advances in technology and a deeper understanding of biological processes continue to drive innovation in this field.
