ABSTRACT

As global education becomes increasingly accessible and academic resource competition intensifies, the significance of academic performance as a measure of student achievement grows. This paper aims to delve into the influence of anxiety, one of the factors impacting academic performance, and analyze strategies for enhancing students’ academic achievements. Central to this investigation is the fundamental question: Does academic anxiety genuinely affect a student's standing? If the answer is affirmative, educators must explore avenues for improvement, while students themselves need to consider how to adapt and overcome these challenges. By exploring the cognitive psychology perspective and drawing upon empirical evidence, this review uncovers the underlying causes of academic anxiety and proposes effective solutions to improve students’ overall academic performance. Ultimately, addressing the challenges posed by anxiety fosters a supportive academic environment that promotes students’ holistic growth and academic success. Through this comprehensive analysis, this paper strives to provide a comprehensive understanding of the debilitating effects of learning anxiety and proposes evidence-based solutions to enhance students’ overall academic performance.
