ABSTRACT

In recent years, a noticeable decline in managed honey bee populations has been observed. Consequently, research into plausible causa tive factors has been conducted, identifying several detriments to colonies, although no single factor has been shown to be the sole cause of the decline. We hypo thesize that the decline in the honey bee population may be due to interactions between multiple detrimental factors, both environmental and human-induced. In this chapter, these possible combi-nations of factors are described in depth and suggestions for their resolution are made.
