ABSTRACT

Urology comprises a wide spectrum of pathology. This ranges from elective office-based procedures to quality-of-life interventions to complex oncologic diseases and reconstructive operations. The field of urology is rapidly evolving to include and utilize minimally invasive methods such as endoscopy, laparoscopy, and robotics. However, the resources for these procedures, in terms of equipment, operating space availability, and staffing personnel, make these techniques unavailable in impoverished settings.
