Renegotiating social and labour policies in the European multi-level system

The forecast for corporatist policy styles ¹ is usually dim. Sometimes even a general decline has been predicted for national corporatism. Alongside shifting powers at the EU level, mainstream scholarly thinking anticipates a development towards transnational pluralism. A closer analysis of recent developments at both levels, however, suggests some qualifications to these prognoses.
