ABSTRACT
The landscape of Berlin has been transformed in the late twentieth and
twenty-first centuries by spaces of contemplation. The landscape of the city
asks a ubiquitous question: what is the role of remembrance of the past in
the space of the present, in the everyday discourse and affairs of the city?
