      ABSTRACT

The diagnosis is a central aspect of Egyptian medicine. It is one of several regular features of instructive medical texts, among others, occurring in two of the most important Egyptian medical papyri, Ebers and Smith. The chapter will review different types of diagnoses that are in the majority paraphrases, e.g. pathological conditions of anatomical entities or pathological conditions of physiological entities.
