ABSTRACT
Although there has been progress since the Summit, it can hardly be said that we have reversed the major trends that threaten our common future. If we ask whether there are more poor people today than in 1992, the answer is yes. If we ask whether environmental deterioriation persists, the answer is also yes. And if we ask whether governments have forgotten the financial commitments they made at the Summit, the answer is again, sadly, yes.
