ABSTRACT

Despite the great attention Garegnani’s numerical example has attracted in the literature, there has been no attempt to provide a simpler version of it. The example uses in fact equations in which exponential functions and roots of degree 10 of powers of degree 11 appear. This might give rise to the impression that highly complex conditions are to be met in order to obtain reswitching with a continuum of techniques. But this is not so. In this chapter we shall present an example with exactly the same properties as Garegnani’s, but using just algebraic equations.
