[Remembered] American Masculinities from my Girlhood (1940s–1970s)

This chapter provides a summary of my masculinity-related memories, spanning the period from the late 1940s until the 1970s. It examines the behaviour and ideals expressed by the various men in my life, reflecting geographic variation within the US (specifically arid rural Oklahoma, forested rural Maine, temperate farmlands of Indiana and Illinois and urban, forested Oregon).
