The aim of this chapter is to determine the safety perceptions of users of an urban park and highlight elements that contribute to perceived safety using principles of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED). A survey with 501 respondents was conducted from October 2017 to January 2018 in Poznań, Poland, allowing the analysis of safety perceptions by time of day and considering the physical and social environment of the park. Park users declare feeling safer during the day than in the evening, but their declared safety is affected by gender and age. Appropriate lighting and video surveillance are the elements that positively affect declared safety levels while vandalism, presence of homeless, and alcohol consumption in the park affect it negatively. The company of other people or dogs also play a role in affecting park users’ safety.
