ABSTRACT
The sanctuary of Pachacamac is the most important archaeological sanctuary on the pre-Hispanic Peruvian coast. There is a museum at the entrance to the sanctuary, where its importance is explained and the main archaeological findings from the site are displayed. Since 2010 a Management Plan has been in place to promote integration and enhance the commitment of the surrounding community to its cultural heritage. The Pachacamac Museum, Ministry of Culture, has a research and conservation programme that showcases the site without altering the pre-Hispanic architecture. It runs educational and work programmes with local populations. The fundamental axes of current site management are to promote the community and corporate social responsibility.
