ABSTRACT

This chapter centers on ROSSETTI, an architecture firm based in Detroit, Michigan, and their development project with the Green Bay Packers, a professional American football team in Wisconsin. The Packers partnered with ROSSETTI in bringing to life a mixed-use development and plaza adjacent to the Packers’ Lambeau Field in the Titletown District. In the chapter, the author discusses the vision and planning of the Titletown development, and how these aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 8. The chapter shows how the Titletown Master Plan was designed to stimulate economic activity and promote community, while enhancing the team brand. The author describes local stakeholder involvement, and provides examples of how businesses and the community have benefited from the design in terms of job creation, sales, and a place for people to connect. This case illustrates how high-quality developments, tied to major sport teams, can be catalysts for sustainable economic development.
