ABSTRACT

This final chapter serves to recap the findings of the individual chapters and lay out our comparative conclusions regarding structures and patterns of interest intermediation in the region, while also comparatively reassessing how organized interests impact the direction of policy in our three chosen policy areas and four countries. The authors also briefly present some simple aggregated data related to organized interests in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovenia. The data enable us to discern some broader trends in the countries’ interest group ecosystems, their intensity of consultation, and cooperation in policy-making, their perception of power and influence as well as their professionalization processes. To wrap up, we offer some promising ideas for future research.
