ABSTRACT
The Film Industry Promotion Law is the first specialized law for the Chinese cultural industry. This chapter introduces the legislative background, the legislative history of the law, and makes a comparative study with relevant laws and regulations of America. The chapter interprets several items of this law, and analyzes the potential far-reaching impact on the Chinese film industry after this law was promulgated.
