ABSTRACT
With the proposal for an “Internet +” strategy, the booming film industry and the Internet will be more integrated. The Internet has created a novel, better integration of resources through new media, big data and other technologies. It has also had an impact on the traditional film industry and reshaped the film industry. This chapter discusses the opportunities and challenges faced by the development of Chinese films in the Internet era, and puts forward strategies for the integration of traditional film companies and the Internet industry, based on the film companies’ attitude toward the Internet. Three strategies are proposed: (1) establish user-oriented personalized customization; (2) build an ecosystem supported by content; and (3) promote cross-border operations with “Internet +” as its strategy.
