ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the argument and proposes multiple alterations for embedding it in modern warfare. Building an influencing framework also requires exploring the utility of the theory of competitive control in the conduct of modern war. To summarise, it is important to note that we have identified three alterations to the theory of competitive control. The theory of competitive control has provided us with a starting ground for embedding influence activities in the conduct of war. Human interaction and behaviour are central to understanding conflict. The emphasis of conflict studies however lies on attitudes and preferences of relevant populations. Building an influencing framework also requires exploring the utility of the theory of competitive control in the conduct of modern war. The key mechanism underlying the concept of competitive control is the prevalence of predictability and consistency over the content of a rule-set for enforcing the normative system.
