ABSTRACT

After covering the political context and chronology, this chapter recounts the disciplined campaign and network of narratives delivered to the Iranian public via official news agencies and governmental interventions, especially the State TV, during COVID-19 outbreak. Entangled in a complicated network of internal and external factors ranging from sanctions, insufficient infrastructures and social responsibility for self-reliance, compassion, sympathy, assiduousness and collective tolerance, we reported how COVID-19 is more than a health issue. It is the story of the campaigns and disciplinary power practised on people; a common thread running through all Iranian crises.
