ABSTRACT

Wisdom Tettey is the immediate past Vice-President of the University of Toronto and Principal of the University of Toronto Scarborough, as well as a Professor of political science and development studies. Professor Tettey begins his term as President and Vice-Chancellor of Carleton University in January 2025. He has served as a consultant/ advisor to various international organisations, including the World Bank, the UNDP, the Africa Capacity Building Foundation and the International Association of Universities. He is an elected Fellow of the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences and currently serves on a number of community/professional boards and on the advisory/editorial boards of various academic publications. Professor Tettey’s research focuses on African media, information technology, civic engagement, and political communication; transnational citizenship and the African diaspora; African higher education and the knowledge society.
