ABSTRACT
Colin Chasi is the Director of the Unit for Institutional Change and Social Justice and professor of communication and media studies at the University of the Free State, in South Africa. He taught at several universities over the span of his career in Zimbabwe and South Africa. He was previously the Head of Department, Communication Studies, at the University of Johannesburg. Chasi works on aspects of the philosophy of communication and health, with special interest in questions of African existence. Chasi has authored numerous books and publications focused on communication practices geared towards offering the foundations of an African theory of communication.
