ABSTRACT

Ruth Teer-Tomaselli is Professor Emeritus and Research Fellow at the University of KwaZulu-Natal [UKZN], Durban, South Africa. Teer-Tomaselli is National Research Foundation (NRF) Rated Researcher (B2); holds a UNESCO Chair in Communications for Southern Africa [2002–present] and served as IAMCR vice-president from 2002 to 2004. Teer-Tomaselli also served as the President of SACOMM and is a Fellow of that organisation. She has served as a Board member on the SABC as well as the commercial station East Coast Radio and the community radio station Durban Youth Radio. Teer-Tomaselli is an Associate Editor of Critical Arts (Routledge).
