ABSTRACT

Sustainability needs collaboration. Learning to collaborate has to be done “by doing” in collaborative projects. But this is not enough: it is necessary to introduce reflexive practices in the educational process, as well as understanding the basic elements for a proper collaboration. This chapter describes the importance of collaboration in the sustainability competences and some of the barriers that its learning encounters. It describes the main findings from an institutional program on collaboration learning developed at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and describes the Nexus24 collaboration building blocks model.
