ABSTRACT
This chapter focuses on the experience of the experimental film lab network from the perspective of ecomedia studies. Although the two authors do not belong directly to the experimental film lab movement, they both have spent time in it and collaborated with some of its actors. The chapter sketches a general approach to this cinematic field through ecological concepts that are coupled with insights based on case studies: two series of workshops about plant-based developers and DIY photochemical emulsions.
