ABSTRACT

Knowledge flow in coworking spaces is shifting to the virtual space due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This chapter therefore provides an overview of knowledge strategies that coworking space managers have developed and implemented to support knowledge sharing during the pandemic. The sample includes managers interviewed about changes in knowledge sharing prior to and during the pandemic. The results suggest that managers applied game-design elements of gamification and informal gatherings to cope with restrictions and social distancing. Managers also emphasized higher diversity in coworking spaces concerning remote workers (IT, consulting, finance). This chapter contributes to studies addressing communities in coworking spaces with an overview of changes in knowledge strategies. Furthermore, it presents practical approaches to engaging stakeholders in knowledge sharing through quizzes and workshops to avoid conflicts and support links within communities.
