ABSTRACT

This chapter explores existential questions about and negotiations with C-19 in Russia at the end of March 2020. Participants were asked to complete the questionnaires in Russian through Google Forms. The alarm phase of stress experienced by Russians at the end of March 2020 correlates with the concept of “ambiguity,” meaning doubtfulness or uncertainty, a lack or fragmentation of information in human experience. The overall understanding of C-19 in Russia was complicated by conflicting views and the need to form a personal opinion about it to guide one’s actions. The emotional component of coping is based on assessing the degree of threat to one’s life. A table listing the M-points of three groups in four parameters, namely, general awareness and believing misinformation about C-19, subjective knowledge, and awareness satisfaction. The media consumption associated with obtaining information about COVID-19 is multimodal.
