Based on a framework of global corporate governance best practice, which can be used in all organisations anywhere in the world, this chapter of Questions To Ask (QTA) in the boardroom gives a high-level but succinct introduction to artificial intelligence considerations in the boardroom.
All directors should ensure that they are informed about the implications of automation before deployment of AI solutions takes place.
The chapter considers a number of the aspects of AI that boards should be aware of. This includes ethics and standards, data governance, board skill set, AI transparency, human resources reskilling considerations, diversity and inclusion to avoid inherent biases, risks and opportunities, transparency, and regulations.
