ABSTRACT
This introductory chapter provides some excerpts from one of the reports that emerged from the EU Horizon 2020 Project i-CONSENT, providing the reader with some useful tools to process and integrate the notions and positions explored and investigated in other chapters of this book. Informed consent faces specific challenges when it concerns vulnerable groups such as pregnant women, migrants and minors, and this chapter—albeit in a more limited version than the full report—wants to address them and provide some recommendations that can prove useful to engage with the additional results of the i-CONSENT Project.
