ABSTRACT
This chapter is the first-hand narrative of Helga Rohra who is a German dementia activist campaigning for dementia awareness. Rohra, who is diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, describes her experiences as an activist, including the strength and solidarity within the dementia activist community, as well the challenges she has faced. Rohra underscores the capacity of people with dementia to speak for themselves and the need for alliances with campaigners with dementia research, policy and practice.
