ABSTRACT
This chapter examines the redevelopment of an old stadium for the Miami Marlins in Little Havana and the search for a new stadium for Inter Miami CF in Miami, Florida. With a majority migrant, BIPOC, and non-English speaking population, a significant presence of income inequality, and the home to five major league teams, Miami provides a unique case study for environmental justice and sports stadiums. The recently opened Marlins’ Park was developed on existing land and made climate-resilient considerations that provide opportunities to shelter local residents from climate impacts. The chapter also looks at the considerations of future development for the Inter Miami CF.
