ABSTRACT
A circular economy is a sustainability transition that seeks to establish a novel techno-economic and socio-cultural model in society. It is a systemic and complex change that moves slowly. Thus, to understand and influence the sustainable circular economy transition, we need new and continuously updated tools. In this chapter, we introduce the concept of a catalyst as a positive driving force for sustainability, outline the concepts of sustainability transition and circular economy, and present an overview of perspectives on catalysing a sustainable circular economy.
