ABSTRACT
Histories are made by machines for cybersecurity. They are made about individuals and groups at a local and global level to prevent the malicious use of networks, and prize-winning environmental historians also make histories at different scales, often with security in mind. The key difference is that we know about these histories, including their focus on climate security. This chapter looks how these different kinds of histories are made through a focus on grounds. Grounding logic focuses on the ways in which imperfect deductions connect to other deductions, including through endoxa. Grounding logic is at play in both artificial and human histories, although it may be more or less visible.
