ABSTRACT

Hydrogen, as an energy vector, is a key pillar in the energy transition space. It is a critical industry to facilitate various emissions reduction strategies, leading to net-zero carbon emissions. The hydrogen value chain expects sizable investments before the end of the decade. Thus, it is arguably a critical platform enabling climate neutrality in many industries now and in the future. This chapter provides a tutorial-type discussion that reviews the hydrogen value chain from production to utilization, especially crafted for those new to the hydrogen industry and technology. It also discusses the projects in which Baker Hughes is involved on a global basis. As part of its acceleration into the energy transition space, the company offers a wide range of solutions in the hydrogen arena. More than 70 projects globally use the company’s frame and aero turbines for various fuel mixtures of high hydrogen content.
