ABSTRACT

Starting with a reminder of the significance of tapping into eudaimonic feelings to understand ourselves and the world we live in, we further present themes identified across the contributions to enrich our understanding of supporting structures for creative wellbeing. Eight recurring themes were identified: access, social community, playfulness, letting go, discomfort, time, attunement, and aesthetic experiences. Based on the hypothesised framework in Chapter 1, common themes are discussed as conditions for entering the goal of transcendence. To understand transcendence as experiences of becoming larger than oneself, the realisation of our place in the world, and our interconnectedness within a web of life, there are many complex causalities influencing at the same time. A systematisation of common themes by providing some central characteristics, moves forward research on creative wellbeing, suitable for improving practice and inspiring nature and culture practices for all.
