ABSTRACT
This case study shows the relevance of the work and life of Jesus Christ and its interpretation in Christology for Christian human rights advocacy. By presenting different expressions of Christian liberation theology from Latin America, the United States, and India, it is argued that the example of Jesus Christ actually can mobilize strong resources in favour of human rights. Jesus Christ is seen as the exemplary human being, advocating and suffering for social justice. But he is also God’s incarnation, showing the great interest God has for those at the margin of society and their struggle for rights.
