ABSTRACT

The Conclusion revisits the basic starting points of the book that were first laid out in the Introduction. These regarded the profound need to change the existing societies and way of life to avoid the destruction of human and non-human life on the planet as well as the pitfalls of an adult-centred society and study of youth participation, which arguably have paid too little attention to the link between participation and overall well-being of young people. To conclude the book, the editors present a few final remarks and reflections on its key themes. They reminisce on some crucial realisations from the early days of the multidisciplinary ALL-YOUTH project, which set the path for its explorative research journeys before ending with a philosophical note that contemplates what posthumanist thinking, in particular, can contribute to research on youth participation and well-being.
