ABSTRACT
Traffic congestion in Indore has become a serious problem. Traffic issues have been increasing day by day and resulting in serious physical and psychological issues. To overcome or minimize the traffic issues, an extensive and rigorous inquiry is required to assess the background of the problem, the major determinants affecting traffic, and propose some viable suggestions/recommendations to the government and traffic controlling authorities. In view of that, the present inquiry is a step to give insight into the topic and gain benefits from the previous literature to finally provide some novel ideas and suggestions for the smooth traffic regulation in Indore city (M.P., India). The DMAIC principle (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control) of the Six Sigma technique has been used to identify the different reasons for traffic management in Indore city of Madhya Pradesh, India. Through the DMAIC principle, the present chapter tried to suggest possible solutions for this problem.
