ABSTRACT
In this concluding chapter, we briefly summarise the contributions provided across the various chapters in both Part 1 and Part 2 of this book, synthesising core themes and common concerns which have arisen. In particular, we discuss the apparent ‘text–actor divide’ in critical education policy research; ethical considerations pertinent to the field; and the socially, culturally and politically charged nature of undertaking research on education policy, given the seemingly ever-increasing importance of education for the competitiveness of nation states across the globe. This chapter concludes by presenting a set of critical questions for critical education policy researchers, suggesting an agenda for progressing critical education policy research now and into the future.
