ABSTRACT

In the second chapter we can find the theoretical background of motivation and motivating systems in enterprises. The authors focus on the traditional motivation theories, which are well known in literature as well as on modern concepts of motivating people, which are nowadays in the scope of interest of researchers. This chapter also describes the concept of hygge as a new motivation concept based on happiness at work as well as the concept of work-life balance. Characteristics of a loyal employee and the concept of work engagement are also included. The authors have attempted to find out whether there is any correlation between motivation, engagement, and loyalty on the example of research studies available in literature.
