ABSTRACT

In this chapter, stories about and perspectives on physical education are provided through the lens of Tanner Williams. Tanner Williams, a self-described autistic individual, described the challenges of physical education class participation. The author highlighted the instances of bullying that occurred during physical education, particularly during locker room transitions. Tanner concluded the chapter with a discussion of coping strategies used to relax after physical education and the consequences of these strategies. Readers will have opportunities to learn from the experiences of the author and will be able to reflect on these experiences as they relate to the readers’ future teaching careers.
