ABSTRACT
In this chapter, stories about and perspectives on physical education are provided through the lens of Hollis Jennings. Hollis Jennings, 10 years old when this chapter was written, described what it was like to have a hearing impairment and participate in elementary physical education. To better illustrate the stories, the author provided a drawing of one instance in physical education that was emblematic of typical experiences. Hollis described such experiences as “too loud” and routinely sat out during physical education. Readers will have opportunities to learn from the experiences of the author and will be able to reflect on these experiences as they relate to the readers’ future teaching careers.
