ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the issue of access to education in general and higher education in particular is examined—more specifically, the denial of access to higher education to certain groups, which is clearly a violation of social justice for the students considered. The factors emphasized include continued segregation; imagination; parental support of learning; content of the curriculum; presence of content such as critical thinking and achievement motivation; access to computers and the internet; the COVID pandemic; and failure to provide tools to assist access, such as advanced placement courses.
