ABSTRACT

An examination of informal learning—access to it and support for it—is an important part of learning. In some contexts, access to informal learning in museums, art galleries, and the like are limited by socioeconomic status. In China parents are not as supportive of informal learning as direct classroom learning. Dr. Zhang, who is the founder of the Chinese Childrens’ Museums, provides an update on her research to enhance the attitude of parents toward informal learning.
