ABSTRACT
This chapter examines sites of collective liberation concretizing ideals of multispecies justice and vegan practices of mutual care that replace hierarchical social structures with relational solidarity. By bridging the gap between activist and academic expressions, this chapter discusses ways to reconceptualize social justice through an ecological lens that includes more-than-human animals as worldbuilders and agents of change, while operating within a neoliberal and capitalist framework. The selected case studies, ranging from animal sanctuaries to gardening collectives and foraging initiatives, serve as transformative models of community building that move beyond welfare ethics and single-issue solutions. Ultimately, this chapter argues that these spaces of interspecies resistance hold the potential to initiate a cultural rewiring that can effectively bridge the fragmentation between eco-social movements and liberation struggles.
