ABSTRACT

The protection and preservation of data, confidentiality, integrity, and availability of such data is central to the maintenance of a secure cybersecurity system. While cybersecurity breaches continue to occur, governments and other organizations have established and strengthened cybersecurity regulations to reduce them. In that regard, Malaysia has had its fair share of cybersecurity breaches. Consequently, this chapter seeks to evaluate the components of the embedding ecosystem to assess the developments and readiness of the cybersecurity environment in Malaysia. In doing so, the chapter examines the national cybersecurity policies in Malaysia, which is followed by a discussion on cybersecurity issues arising from the main technology domains in the country. The chapter then addresses the cybersecurity concerns associated with the deployment of IR4.0 technologies in Malaysia.
