ABSTRACT
The dialogue in this chapter traces the transformative journey of Yuan Di, known as Yanyou, the innovator behind Jiazazhi Press (JZZP), a leading platform promoting contemporary Chinese photography. Originating as a simple online blog, Jiazazhi metamorphosed into a dynamic showcase for photographers and artists before evolving further into a prominent photobook publisher. With time, JZZP expanded its scope, managing diverse venues for art events and fostering global collaborations. This chapter unfolds through a nuanced, behind-the-scenes interview with Yanyou, offering deep insights into JZZP's dynamic evolution, their distinctive strategies for photobook creation, the unique challenges of the Chinese milieu, and the promising prospects for both domestic and international collaborations.
